# Cookie Policy

Last updated: 11 October 2026

This Cookie Policy explains what cookies and similar technologies Propel Audit (“Propel,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) uses on our website and web application, why we use them, and how you can manage them. It applies to users worldwide and should be read together with our Privacy Policy.

## 1. Why there is no cookie banner

Under the ePrivacy Directive (and equivalent rules in the UK and other jurisdictions), consent is required to store or access information on your device unless that storage is strictly necessary to provide a service you have requested, or the technology is used solely to carry out the transmission of a communication.

Everything Propel sets is either strictly necessary for the service to function, or a preference you yourself choose. None of it is used for advertising, cross-site tracking, profiling, or analytics that require consent. Consequently there is nothing that needs a consent banner under current rules.

This is a deliberate design choice. The list below is exhaustive. If we ever introduce analytics, advertising, or any technology that profiles you across sites, we will ask for consent first through a clear choice that includes a genuine refuse option, and this page will be updated before any such technology is activated.

## 2. Strictly necessary cookies and storage

Session and authentication cookies set by Clerk keep you signed in and protect against cross-site request forgery (CSRF). The application cannot function without them. Clearing them signs you out. These are first-party cookies set on our domain (or Clerk’s authentication domain under our instructions) and expire when the session ends or after a limited period of inactivity.

Sign-up acceptance storage: a short-lived browser storage entry records that you ticked the acceptance boxes during sign-up, so the acceptance survives the redirect into the account form. It is scoped to that browser tab (or session) and is cleared as soon as it has been recorded against your account. It is strictly necessary to complete the registration flow you requested.

## 3. Preferences (local storage)

Your theme choice (light or dark) is stored locally in the browser and mirrored to your account so the same choice follows you between devices. Clearing it simply returns you to the default.

A few additional choices are kept in your browser’s local storage in the same way: which side of the workspace you have open (prop firms or live brokerage), whether you use the Light or Advanced view (and whether your plan includes Advanced), which page tutorials you have already seen, and the filters you set on the News page. The workspace side and the view preference are also saved to your account. None of these are cookies, none is read by any third party, and clearing them only resets those choices. They are set solely because you selected the preference.

## 4. Payments (Whop)

When you open checkout or manage a subscription, you are redirected to or interact with pages controlled by Whop (our payment and subscription provider). Whop and its payment partners may set their own cookies or similar technologies on those pages for fraud prevention, payment security, and to complete the transaction you requested. Those pages are governed by Whop’s own cookie and privacy policies.

If your subscription is billed through Stripe (one started before checkout moved to Whop), Stripe’s billing portal sets Stripe’s own cookies in the same way, governed by Stripe’s cookie policy.

Propel itself does not set any cookies on your device for payment purposes.

## 5. Referral cookie

If you arrive through a referral link of the form propelaudit.com/ref/CODE, we set one first-party cookie that records which member referred you. It contains a referral code and the time it was issued, is cryptographically signed so it cannot be altered, and expires after 30 days.

The cookie is read once, on our server, and only if you go on to create an account: that is what credits the referring member. Your browser never exposes it to page scripts, we do not share it with anyone, and it is not used to build a profile of you or to follow you across other websites. Clearing it simply means a referral is not credited.

We treat this cookie as strictly necessary to the referral service that the link itself requests. If you prefer not to have it set, visit propelaudit.com directly instead of through a referral link.

## 6. What we do not set

Propel sets no advertising cookies, no cross-site tracking pixels, no third-party analytics cookies, no social-media trackers, and no fingerprinting technologies. We run no advertising-network code of any kind. We do not use cookies or similar technologies to build profiles for advertising or to track you across other websites or apps.

## 7. Managing cookies and local storage

You can clear cookies and local storage from your browser settings at any time. Most browsers also let you block cookies on a per-site basis.

Clearing the strictly necessary authentication cookies will sign you out and may re-show the acceptance step at the next sign-up. Clearing preference storage simply resets those choices to their defaults. Clearing the referral cookie means a referral will not be credited if you later create an account.

Because we only use strictly necessary technologies and user-controlled preferences, there is currently no separate “reject non-essential” control to offer. If that changes, a clear choice will appear before any non-essential technology is used.

## 8. Updates to this policy

If we introduce any new cookie or similar technology that is not strictly necessary, we will update this Cookie Policy and, where required by law, obtain consent before the technology is activated. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page always reflects the current version.
